Japan Festival Houston 1st Annual Poster Contest

Japan Festival Houston marked the start of the Reiwa Era and a new decade with the 1st Annual Japan Festival Houston Poster Contest!

Contest judges, including Consul-General Hideo Fukushima, MFAH Asian Art Curator Dr. Bradley Bailey and Architect Peter Rockrise, considered the following categories: Color, Composition, Craftsmanship and Focus.

After scores were tallied, Don Suttajit was named the Grand Prize Winner and Michael Jap was named the Honorable Mention Recipient. Their winning designs can be seen below.CONGRATULATIONS!  おめでとうございます!

Please look for the winning designs on the Japan Festival and Japan-America Society of Houston social media accounts and in the business places of our Houston-based community partners. Also, plan to see the artists in person at the prize presentation ceremony that will be held at the festival.
